Dade City Garden Club
Cooking School Demonstration Dinner –
“Café Habana – A Cuban Dining Experience”

The Dade City Garden Club is pleased to announce that the third cooking school event of the year will be offered on April 15, 2010 and will feature local guest chef, Vickie West.  The dinner will begin at 6pm in the gourmet kitchen of Sonny’s Appliances, in Dade City.  The cooking school will be co-sponsored by Jim Browne Citrus Chrysler – Jeep – Dodge, 12020 U.S. Hwy 301, Dade City and Patriot Chevrolet, 10741 U.S. Hwy 301, Dade City.

The preparation for each course of the meal will be demonstrated and then served to participants.  Seating is limited to 48 guests and tickets are $45.00 and must be reserved by calling (352) 567-6841.

The guest chef for the evening will be Vickie West, a local caterer with many years of experience.  The menu will include an appetizer of shrimp served with a special Tejano style dipping sauce followed by the main course which will include black bean soup with marinated rice, mixed greens salad with vinaigrette dressing, roast pork tenderloin and Cuban bread.  The dessert course will be Tres Leche cake. The appetizer will be paired with sangria and a wine will be served to complement the entrée and dessert with coffee and water also available.

The two previous cooking schools were very successful with delicious meals and a sold out crowd.  All proceeds from the events are being used to fund capital outlay projects at the Garden Club building located on 5th Street . The Garden Club dining events will eventually be expanded into an annual "Taste of Dade City” celebration.
